The book has been described as an eclectic piece which seeks to impart lessons on what true success as a practicing lawyer is and how to achieve it. Through the use of personal experiences, the book describes the values and attributes that one needs to have and adhere to in order to be successful. It seeks to reassert the essential foundations upon which the profession rests which are under constant and increased threat in an environment where the source and drivers of motivation have mutated.
The book must be useful to a law student who must know the intricacies of their future profession. It must guide the new entrant who, equipped with the law degree, must now strive for the fulfilment of their aspirations in embarking on this profession. The book must soothe and ameliorate the exasperation, impatience and frustration of the already practicing lawyer who has yet to see the materialization of the fruits of their toil. The book must also spur those who have been in the game longer, that they may also sit down and also share the stories that led them to have successful and long careers in law.Yet the ordinary person must enjoy the book, even if it is to enable them to have a sneak peek into the workings of the legal profession. In any event, some of the lessons the book seeks to impart, apply with equal force to any endeavour the human being is called to. It is thus a valuable and must read for everyone!
The gap between who you are and what you can be, can be narrowed by continuous learning.
